Hey mina!! Since I made this new fairy tail dedicated blog, I decided maybe I could write some fairy tail reviews or opinions just to get my words out. 

Anyways, after reading the recent chapters and with a lot of confusion revolving ‘Gruvia’ (Gray and Juvia) these are really just my honest opinion of the pairing and whether I think they might have potential or not.

SPOILER ALERT!  and These are my opinions and I’m not asking anyone to agree with them.

The situation:

Most people describe Gruvia as being a one sided relationship with Juvia being very overly attached to Gray while Gray is just being….Gray?

And so far we do know that Gray does acknowledge Juvia’s love (is that even love?) for him when Erza talks to him about it but he seems like he doesn’t wanna discuss it at all

So Erza is really basically asking Gray to come to his own terms and really own up to Juvia and himself to whether he actually like her or not because Erza knows that Juvia CAN’T go on like this.

Moving on, when Meredy, Juvia and Gray were being attacked by sharp beams I recall Gray mentioning that he wanted to tell Juvia something 'unimportant’

Shortly after Gray gets shot and actually killed instead of Juvia since he shoved her to the side. Many people see that as an act of love but honestly…are you saying Gray wouldn’t have done that for anyone else? He wouldn’t have done that for Lucy or Natsu? 

So Gray is revived thanks to Ultear and later on Juvia has a go on him again.. *sigh*

I don’t know if anyone else is reading the same thing I read but Gray says to Juvia after she tells him that she loves him that

“No thanks, I’ve got to clearly lay out the things that I don’t like”.

He said no to Juvia’s affection. He said no!

This has not happened only once but Gray really seems annoyed by the fangirling, I recall him saying “why do I have to partnered up with her?” in the key of the Stary sky arc. 

Coming back to what Erza told him, he made up his mind guys but obviously Juvia continues to fangirl over him pshhhhhhhh

As fairy tail moves forward, I think the Juvia fangirling-ness has really contributed to the whole plot which is why I don’t think it’ll ever stop but when we talk about Gray he’s really a different person.

Gray seems like one of those guys who is all cool and all but he seems to have a spot which I don’t think we were introduced to yet. When I see Gray with his 'soul mate’ I only see someone who is quite silent and understands him and she gets to the spot which Gray has. I don’t see Gray with a overly attached girlfriend because so far Juvia doesn’t really get to him I guess. 

Let’s  not forget how Ur and Ultear sacrificed themselves for him, Gray is living his life right now with two major events that will scar his life forever and he feels that he has to make it up somehow, which is where Juvia’s place is. Instead of Gray just letting go of her once and for all why does he put up with the whole Juvia attention. The main reason is he needs it and it also is the most beautiful part.

Gray seeing how people cared about him so much with their own lives makes him want to do it as well. He feels this towards Juvia especially because she deeply cares about him and he doesn’t want to be in a situation where another person sacrifices themselves for him, instead, Gray wants to be in a situation where he sacrifices himself for her and not vice versa which is why he wants to keep Juvia close.

Lastly, the whole Gray fangirling is blinding the readers from who the real Juvia is. I personally don’t like her character but when I see the situations where there is no Gray involved at all (which is like 5% of the time) I actually really like her. 

What’s really bothering me is the fact that everyone is saying Gray is being cold to Juvia. I’m sorry that this is Gray we are dealing with. He’s really that type of guy who doesn’t really pay attention to the fangirling I mean if someone was into your case 24/7, good luck with enjoying that.
